Catch fireflies: #22

Crossed another thing off the “list of things to do before I die” last week.

Paul took me, Jeffrey and Jimmy to Sakae last week for the Iris festival/firefly catching event. At 9:30pm the lights went out at the entire park and slowly the fireflies started coming out of the forests. It was sooo cool and I loved it. Contrary to my notion, fireflies aren’t this mystical fairy-like insect, they are an UGLY termite looking bug, that if not for its glow-in-the-dark derriere, I would have swatted the first opportunity I got. It was a really cool night and Paul got some really cool pictures with his fancy camera. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes, but that is to be expected being outside at night without my DEET and I think the boys had a good time too.
