TOKYO SUMMATION

So I know that Tokyo was forever a long time ago but I finally got the pics from Terren! So I'll post the last of 'em and then kiss Tokyo good bye. Parting is such sweet sorrow! Tokyo, how I miss thee! But dont worry, ILL BE BAAACKKKK!

Daibutsu was ookiku-te rippa desu ne!
Statue of Buddha in Kamakura
These places are massive and really really beautiful

@ Tokyo Train Station
About 12 million people (10 percent of Japan's population) live within Tōkyō-to's prefectural boundaries, its no wonder that this train station is one of the busiest train stations in the world

Have you ever heard of Roulette Food? Like Russian Roulette it is attempting to beat the odds, only with food. You can order tackoyaki and there will be 8 on the plate 1 of which is filled with something disgusting like natto or 100% Wasabe. These themed places also offer this specialty food. It was sooo hard to resist being repulsed by my food, but somehow...I managed to stay away from that side of the menu.

Some stuff I learned:

About 35 million people live in the Greater Tokyo Area which encompasses Tōkyō-to and surrounding prefectures, making it the world's most populous metropolitan area. Because of its huge population and wealth, many world records are or were held here, including the most expensive real estate ever ($1.5 million/sq meter in 1990), the most expensive city for over a decade running, the most passengers served by its train system, headquarters to the most Fortune 500 companies in the world (2006), and has the largest GDP of any metropolitan area in the world.

My birthday lookin all natural! aka...busted! ha ha ha...
Young in age but wise beyond my years...yeah right!

This is street art in Daikanyama. It was soo cool. The guy kept perfectly still regardless of the fact it was freezing outside! We decided to stare and poke at him until he moved! What's in your bag Mister???!
Guess what...he didnt move! Now this is the kind of art I like!
When I first heard Gwen Stefani's song Harajuku Girls and saw the video, I thought that it was all done up for the video. NOPE...these girls really walk around the street looking like this! I wonder how long it takes them to get ready in the morning..when I dont even brush my hair!
Tis the Season!
I think its so wierd that the Japanese go all out for Christmas and they dont even really know what it is all about. Today when I was telling my students about Christmas, they didnt even know why we celebrate it! They never heard of elves or mistletoe or Rudolph. They think that Candy Canes arent candy at all, they are only ornaments and that Santa only has 1 reindeer. I was shocked!!! I was like: CHANGE OF PLANS! Today we are talking about Christmas for the whole class...this is some real education...forget all that grammar stuff!

This is us with shopping bags full of things for us! We were supposed to be Christmas shopping but it just didnt get done! Go'Men!
